This Saturday 29th March we have a very special guest at the junior netball sessions. Our volunteer coach Angel Mahlik, who is a great Goal Shooter in her own right, has a very talented younger sister called Shannon Mahlik who is a future England star & is making a special journey to come to coach our girls at the Saturday sessions this week. This is her incredible history at only 17 years old:
"Hi! My name is Shannon Mahlik. I am 17 years old and have been playing netball since the age of 4. Itās a huge part of my life and I love it!"
"I have been part of the England Roses Academy for the last 3 years and have represented England U17 at the Europe Netball Championships for the last 2 years, achieving my first junior cap in 2024 and winning gold at both competitions. For this yearās event I was also chosen as U17 captain which was a huge honour."
"I have been part of the Manchester Thunder pathway since the age of 12 and represented from age groups U15 to U21 in the National Performance League and at the School Games. I now play for Manchester Thunderās NXT GEN U23s squad and regularly train alongside the NSL squad who I also had the opportunity of playing with in their pre-season friendly matches this season and last season too."
"At club level I play for Oldham Netball Club Prem team who recently won the National Premier League Division 1 title, which is the highest level of domestic netball in the country."
What an honour it will be to meet her, we are so excited to welcome Shannon this Saturday to ONC! šš
